Born in California, I spent my childhood in Texas.   I've been an Arizona citizen since 1977, except for a brief work opportunity in Texas.  I graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State University in 1989.  My work history includes accounting, financial analysis, and accounting systems support.

I am blessed with a wonderful daughter, Cassidy, who is attending Arizona State University.

I have been a registered Green since the first time we had ballot access back in the early 1990’s in Arizona.  I am currently the Secretary for the Arizona Green Party.  I was a delegate to the national presidential nomination convention in 2008 in Chicago.  (Check out C-Span archives for information about the convention)   I chose the Green party because of it's emphasis on social justice, grassroots democracy, fiscal responsibility, and sustainable practices.

I am an avid volunteer, currently volunteering with the AZ chapter of the Red Cross and Maricopa county CASA.  I also work with environmental groups, gay rights organizations, community services, and children’s organizations as my schedule allows.
I'm also a member of Mensa.

I believe a sense of humor, integrity, compassion, and honesty are the most important traits a person running for office should have and exhibit.

The issues that make me passionate about running for Congress are a balanced budget, improved economy, alternative and sustainable energy systems, protecting our resources, and responsibly ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  There is no more time to play politics with our future.  Smart, reasonable and informed decisions need to be made now based on common sense.  There are ways to conserve our resources, create jobs, and build our economy all at the same time.
